In the wake of Hurricane Irene, this timely film tells the tale of LBI, a barrier island off the coast of New Jersey. This shifting sand dune in the ocean was once home to a summer community and a surfing haven, but has now been anchored down by billions of dollars of oceanfront real estate. No longer able to move, will the island drown in place, or can it be saved by the Army Corps of Engineers? S’UP successfully launched its Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for post-production.
